Room was not made up until late in the day - after 4:30 pm. Akward not to have clean towels when I returned to my room after lunch.
Pay parking Thought breakfast, at least continental, could have been included in the price. Not impressed with quality of food in restaurant for the prices..tried one morning there...other 2 breakfasts chose alternate restaurant in area.
The room was very comfortable for sitting around, watching TV, etc.. The heating system (electric) made it easy to obtain a comfort temperature.
The hotel was good value and was within walking distance of downtown Victoria.
Our room did not have air conditioning which might be a concern in warmer weather.
Excellent location, great staff, great rate.
The a/c appeared not to be working, but it wasn't a factor during our stay.
The staff are friendly, approachable, and very helpful. I travel a lot for work and stay in some very upscale hotels, yet the staff at Huntingdon stand out from all these. The location is fantastic. The hotel is a three minute walk from the Port Angeles ferry, which made it easy to leave the car on the other side, a grocery store is a 15 minute walk and all the downtown attractions are within 10 to 15 minutes. The rooms are a bit dated, but I liked the atmosphere, the location and the price.
I think the hotel is in a great location of Victoria dt, great value for the hotel..
One thing though the pillow were really soft, Please upgrade your bed and pillows it is a good comforting point for the guest to enjoy their staying at Huntingdon hotel! After all everybody would like to get a good night sleep. Thank you!
Closeness to everything, quiet hotel, friendly staff
Good value hotel, with good size rooms and great location near the waterfront - not far from the restaurants, shops, harbour, etc.
"Good value for money" applies to this hotel, for sure. The location is close to perfect, the amenities a little dated but well maintained and the atmosphere is of a traditional english country hotel. In all, a good place to stay for your visit to Victoria and surroundings.
The whirlpool is definitely too hot!
We enjoyed our stay at your hotel. It was cosy and comfortable. It is easy to go anywhere from there particularly if you are a tourist and want to be near the inner hrbr.It was a good deal for the price.
One thing was that it was nice to have the choices to eat at the different restaurants but it would be nice to have the convenience of an eating place for dinner at the hotel and not have to go anywhere else if you so chose. I didn't find it particularly convenient for getting to the lounge and The Mansion as I have walking difficulties. That are no ramps. No bugs thank heavens.Ha!
Bubble bath and sauna in the basement. Clean, spacy, comfortable.
No breakfast, not so fresh sauna.
Relaxing with the Hot tub to help. The only disturbing factor was that twice we had to return to the front desk to have our keys changed. This is very embarrassing when you have just come from the hot tub.
Location,Quiet location, and close enough to visit the whole of Victoria by walking
I didn't like much about this hotel. For one thing when I booked through your website I thought I was getting it 2 nights for 154. When I checked out I was charged 91 for each night, 28 dollars more than I planned. Then all the pluses. 15 for each night of parking, 15 extra each night for my little dog. Plus Plus Plus...
I was put on the 1st floor so I couldn't take the luggage rack to my room. Therefore had to make several trips. They vacuumed near my room after 11pm at night each night and finally I went out and told them off. I heard all the noise from the office waking me up all night, Plus my room must have had all the water pipes, because whenever someone flushed/showered, I was woken up. The remote control fell under the bed. When I found it, I also found a bug trap with bugs on it, and when I checked out, another guest had live bugs that he'd caught in his bed!!! There was no a/C. The room smelled of cooking. There were 2 inches of frost in the freezer. When I returned for my 2nd night my bed wasn't made properly and my dirty glass wasn't replaced. It was awful and I don't think you should recommend it until after you stay in room 121.
Location extremely good as right beside the harbour and within walking distance to main sights. Room was spacious.
Not made clear on check-in about eating facilities. Lounge bar was not open late for meals which would have been better.
